Psalm 23 has always encouraged me. I have seen God provide for me when it was most needed. I can never forget an experience from my childhood that imprinted this verse in my heart. We had a pressing need, and as a family we prayed with this psalm asking God for a specific solution.The lord gave us what we asked for that day. He used someone we least expected to answer this prayer. For the rest of my life I know that God is my provider, always giving me all I need one day at a time.
This psalm came from David's personal experience. As a shepherd boy God was with him as he faced loneliness in the valley, he must have felt fatigue, tiredness, known hunger, fear, terrible living conditions, and disappointment. Through it he learned that God always provided what he really needed, one day at a time, keeping Him safe through all dangers.
You must remember as you walk your life's path that you are not alone. Your difficulties, hardships and fears are known to God. He is your Shepherd, your keeper and He gives you what you really need, one day at a time.
